Your American Red Cross Today!
What
would you tell a friend who asked you, “What does the Red
Cross do?” If you are a Health and Safety Instructor you
would know about the classes we offer, but would you know about
what a Disaster Action Team member does? If you work in the
Chapter offices entering data for the Office of Volunteers would
you know about Blood Services? If you think you might struggle
for answers to these questions you are probably like most people
in our communities. We know something about the Red Cross
but are uncertain about specifics.
To
educate our communities and reconnect people with the vital
mission and services of the American Red Cross, we have begun a
new program of one-hour lunch meetings here at Chapter
headquarters designed to do just that. Your American Red
Cross Today programs are held the second and fourth Thursday
of each month, beginning at 11:45 am and ending promptly at 1:00
pm.
Our
guests enjoy a simple lunch with a group of volunteer and paid
staff who provide informational and inspirational stories
about real people impacted by Red Cross Services in each of our
four mission areas: Disaster, Health & Safety, Blood Services,
and Service to the Armed Forces. We also give them some facts,
dispel some myths and share our vision and wishes for the future
of the Red Cross in our communities.
If
you have not joined us yet, if you have family, colleagues,
friends or neighbors that you think would like to know more
about the Red Cross please call Vicki Eichstaedt at 353-6180 ext.
116 and make a reservation for one of the sessions listed
below. She can also be e-mailed at
